Two Truths & AI

Can your kid spot what's real and what's AI?

Here's a fun challenge for your family: Can you tell the difference between a real movie poster and one created by AI? It's trickier than you might think.

Two Truths & AI is a fast-paced game where families work together to spot AI-generated images. In just 60 seconds, you'll look at three movie posters and figure out which one is fake. It's designed to be fun, but it's also helping your kids build a skill they'll use every day: knowing what's real online.

Play the game!

How it works

The game shows three movie posters—two real, one AI-generated. Your job? Find the fake. Look for clues like text errors, weird details, or things that just seem... off. If you get stuck, you can use hints to narrow down your choices (three hints on Easy, two on Medium, one on Hard).

Choose between timed mode for an extra challenge or untimed mode if you want more time to talk through what you're seeing together.

The goal

Kids today see AI-generated content everywhere—social media, search results, even TV ads. The more comfortable they get at spotting what's real and what's not, the better equipped they'll be to think critically about everything they see in media and online.

Playing together gives you a natural way to talk about these skills. You might be surprised—your kid might spot things you miss, and you might catch details they overlook. That's the point. Learning works best when families do it together.

The goal isn't just to win the game, but to develop lasting critical thinking skills that kids can apply whenever they encounter digital media.

Ways to play

Make it social: Challenge each other to see who spots the fakes faster, or team up siblings and parents for friendly competition. Invite grandparents for multi-generational fun!

Talk about it: The real learning happens when you pause and discuss what you noticed. These conversations help kids put words to their thinking through discussion, practicing both quick decisions and thoughtful analysis.

Conversation starters:

  • "Which posters were hardest to figure out?"
  • "What clues helped you spot the fake?"
  • "Where else have you seen AI-generated images?"

(Hint: While the game provides automated explanations, have your child explain their own reasoning and observations. You can double check the answer keys for K-6 or 7-12 to know where to look.)
