Common Sense Carpool Conversations
A podcast series that invites adults and kids to talk about the issues that matter most in kids' digital lives.
Like a verbal game, each two-minute (or less) episode features an adult-child pair using prompts like "Never have I ever…" or "Who's the most likely to…" to chat about a variety of thought-provoking topics in a fun and light way that kids and adults will love! What's more, all of these topics come straight from our popular, research-backed Digital Literacy & Well-Being Curriculum for schools.

Why we made these podcasts
Kids and adults need space to talk about important issues …
You don't have to be a tech expert to give your kid life lessons about digital well-being. The purpose of the podcast is to start discussions in fun, authentic ways and to encourage sharing (including for the adults). The questions might lead to deeper discussions—or not! Either way, the goal is to nurture empathy, lead with curiosity, and have ongoing conversations that acknowledge we're all in this together.
Teachers! You can use these podcasts in your classrooms, too
Because these podcast prompts (also available as game cards) are rooted in the concepts in our Digital Literacy & Well-Being Curriculum, they're an easy way to start discussions about our online lives in authentic, fun ways. Use them as bellringers, writing prompts, or introductions to our lessons. They're grouped into grade levels, but many prompts can age up or down. Happy listening!
Who we are
An independent voice for kids, families, and schools everywhere.
Common Sense is a nonprofit organization giving kids, families, and schools the tools to make informed choices about media and technology. Families know us for our independent, age-based reviews of movies, TV shows, books, games, podcasts and apps. Educators use our free curriculum and edtech reviews to plan lessons and integrate technology into their teaching practice. At our core, we are a children's advocacy group. We draw on original research, industry expertise, and community partnerships to advocate for laws and policies that help kids thrive.
