What's It About?

For more than 60 years, Smokey Bear has been the spokesbruin for the prevention of forest fires. The site offers many peeks into his past history, including an archive of colorful posters and fun-to-listen-to radio ads. There's also a treasure chest of memorabilia, including a special edition toy Smokey Bear Chevy Blazer (get it?). The kids' section features \"Bear Facts\" about Smokey's species and \"In the Forest\" information about the importance of trees and the danger of forest fires. There are also six \"Campfire Games\" to play online.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say ( 1 ):

In addition to Smokey's safety tips, older kids can find interesting facts about the science of fires, including how they're started and the role they play in maintaining certain ecosystems. Younger visitors will enjoy the simple arcade-style games in the Smokey Kids section. Two technical gripes: The text in the Kid's Section is tiny, and several of the links don't work.
