What's the Story?

TOTAL WRECKLAMATION host/star Jodi Murphy initially started her business -- auctioning off materials from homes about to be demolished -- because she needed to support her three daughters as a single mom. But she soon became passionate about reclaiming as much as possible from these homes so that it doesn't end up in landfills. The show follows her as she looks at empty houses, determines what can be sold/salvaged, and lines up potential buyers for the auction.

Is It Any Good?

The fact that Murphy is all but begs her buyers to increase their bids is a little off-putting. And while the show seems like the kind of thing that would work beautifully as a special, it's hard to imagine watching it week after week and seeing what appears to be pretty much the same thing every time. On the plus side, in our throw-away society, learning how to buy used isn't such a bad option.
