What's the Story?
In VH1's I MARRIED..., viewers get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at how celebrities and their non-star spouses make their marriages work. In each episode -- in between interviews in which the featured couple talks about how they first met and what it was like when they were dating -- viewers are treated to footage from the celeb's youth and time spent in the spotlight, as well as photos from the couple's personal stash. Then viewers hear how they made it to the altar and what life is like for them and their families now. For the most part, the stars who are profiled are decidedly C-list: Carnie Wilson, rapper MC Hammer, Hootie and the Blowfish's Darius Rucker, rockers Sebastian Bach and Sammy Hagar, and The Apprentice's Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth have all been featured.
Is It Any Good?
Though the underlying message -- that these couples are committed to each other and determined to make their marriages work -- is a good one, parents may want to base their decision on whether or not to let kids watch on which star is scheduled to be featured.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about relationships and commitment. What makes a successful marriage? How can two people make a marriage work while dealing with work pressures? Do you think it would be hard to be married to someone in the spotlight? Why?
